Dorset Police are asking for anyone with dashcam footage of an incident that occurred on Friday 15 May 2020 at around 5.26pm at Hurn airport to come forward.

The BMW was travelling along Parley Lane, having failed to stop for police. The officers lost sight of the vehicle for a short time, during which it was involved in a collision with a red Volkswagen Fox on the roundabout at the junction with the Avon Causeway.

The 22 year-old woman driving the Volkswagen Fox sustained a serious head injury and was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. Her condition is reported to be potentially serious.

Police arrested two Bournemouth men aged 22 and 24 at the scene on suspicion of driving offences. A third man fled the scene but was arrested nearby after a thorough search with the NPAS helicopter and a police dog unit. The three men are assisting the police with their enquiries into the incident.

Police Sergeant Craig Tatton said: “I am appealing to anyone who was travelling along Parley Lane at the relevant time and witnessed the collision to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who witnessed the manner of driving of any of the vehicles involved, or captured the collision of vehicles on dashcam.

“Finally, we are also looking to speak to a man who was seen in the area at the time who may have information relating to the collision. He is described as white, approximately six feet tall, of heavy build and was wearing a blue top and cream shorts.”
