LOCAL NEWS: Dolphin Shopping Centre: Connecting Families in Lockdown

0

The coronavirus has been particularly difficult for those living alone and unable to use the internet to stay in touch with loved ones. Now, the Dolphin Shopping Centre has created a fun way to help families reconnect with each other when they’re miles apart.

The new creation is called ‘The Positivity Postcard’ and it can be downloaded for free from the Dolphin Shopping Centre’s website and personalised in whatever way you wish. After that, you can write a message for your family or friends and send it to them in the post or by email.

Manager of the Dolphin Shopping Centre, John Grinnell, said: “Following the confirmation of the extended Government-enforced lockdown, we wanted to create something that will help spread some positivity amongst our community and help families to still feel connected. The Positivity Postcard can be easily downloaded at home and sent to a loved one at a time when many people are unable to see extended members of their family and friends face to face.”

For anyone in need of an extra distraction, the centre will also be releasing a number of online quizzes, activities and games through their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels over the next few weeks as part of their ‘Self-Care Sundays’ campaign, which promotes the benefits of positive health and wellbeing. The campaign is an opportunity for the whole family to get involved.

The Dolphin Shopping Centre is currently open between 8.30am and 6.15pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5.30pm on Sundays, to provide access to key retailers Boots, M&S, Holland & Barrett, WHSmith, Cycle Paths, Poundland, McColl’s and Wilko. Specsavers in Kingland Crescent is open for emergency appointments only.
