HEALTH: STARS Dorset Increasing Phone Availability

1

Dorset’s Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services (STARS) has announced it is increasing the availability of its telephone support line to support as many people as possible during the coronavirus pandemic and country-wide lockdown.

The charity, which offers free support for anyone affected by sexual violence such as rape, child abuse and sexual assault, normally provides a counselling service and an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor service, but have had to suspend face-to-face support until further notice.

For now, the charity’s telephone support line is available on 01202 308855 at the following times:

  • Mondays and Tuesdays: 10am – 12pm and 3pm – 5pm
  • Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 10am – 12pm, 3pm to 5pm, and 7.30pm – 9.30pm

They will also be increasing the availability of their live chat service, which you can access from their website, along with further information about the work the charity carries out in the community.

You can contact the team with any general queries on 01202 308840, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, or by email
