WHAT’S ON: ‘The Selfish Giant’ show coming to Poole

Soap Soup Theatre and Tessa Bide Productions are bringing their production of The Selfish Giant to Poole.

Two of Bristol’s leading family theatre experts are teaming up to present a production of The Selfish Giant this April. The show is inspired by a children’s story written by Oscar Wilde of the same title.

The production will appear at the Lighthouse, Poole’s centre for the arts, on Saturday 25 April. It tells the story of an unusual friendship, and how even the grumpiest giant’s heart can melt when Spring finally comes.

The giant named Grinter lives happily alone in her icy home, isolating herself from the people who shut her out long ago. Then one day the children climbed through to the giant’s house in an attempt to find somewhere new to play. It is a day that changers Grinter’s and the children’s life forever.

The show is described as having enchanting music, beautiful designs, powerful storytelling and captivating puppetry. Ticket’s are on sale now for the one hour production. There are two showings of the performance on the 25th, one being at 11am and the next at 2pm. Ticket prices start at £8.00.
