Poole Pirates are looking to provide financial support to help the victims of the huge bushfire that has enveloped many parts of Australia.

The club have announced they are donating 25% of the profits generated through online merchandise orders throughout the month of January to help support the firefighters fighting the flames in Australia.

Poole Pirates co-promoter Danny Ford has said: “What is happening on the other side of the world right now is absolutely horrific and extremely hard to contemplate, but when you see the news footage you can’t help but be shocked by the extent and the ferocity of the fires and the consequences thereof. So, we have decided to add our support to the Emergency Fund..”

Over the years the club has had many links with the region in terms of players, such as Craig Boyce, Chris and Jack Holder, Brady and Todd Kurtz, Craig Watson and Mick Poole.
