Avoiding Dry January has never been this easy, with locals in Bournemouth and Poole, able to enjoy reduced prices of Wetherspoons in until January 16.
Dry January is an annual movement by Alcohol change UK in which millions of people attempt to give up alcohol for the month of January.
The only rule of Dry January is that when you wake up on New Year’s day, you need to avoid drinking until February 1.
According to “Alcoholchange” in England in 2018, 82% of adults drank alcohol in the past 12 months, with 49% of adults drinking at least once a week.
This January also marks Cancer Research UK’s launch of their Dryathlon to encourage the public to go alcohol free for the month to test their willpower, while raising funds to beat cancer.
In an act to counter Dry January, Wetherspoons are dropping their prices on certain booze.
The Quary in Poole and The Christopher Creeke in Bournemouth, are just two of the pubs in Dorset that will undergo a price drop for the Wetherspoons January sale.
Price drops will include alcoholic drinks like Gordon’s Pink Gin, Sharp’s Doom Bar, Guinness, Merlot and Chardonnay.
Drinks with price reduction
It’s not just alcoholic drinks on sale, the pub chain are also offering Lavazza iced cappuccino, Gunna muscovite lemonade and mint as well as discounted Pepsi Max & R White’s lemonade.
The reduction in cost is set to be between 10p and 30p less than before sale.
