This weekend marks the beginning of a month of festivities in Poole, kicking off with the Christmas light switch on tomorrow.
The event starts at 12pm in Falkland Square and will run until 6pm with a full programme of entertainment for all the family. Last years I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here winner, Harry Redknapp will be turning on the Christmas lights at 5.45.
On Sunday 1st December, Santa’s coming to Poole! He’s scheduled to arrive on Poole Quay 9.30am before taking a boat trip around the bay with children from Old Town Infant School. At 11.30am the Santa procession starts from Poole Quay on to Old Orchard, through the town and finishing in Falkland Square.
Other activities include kids’ entertainers Jamie Jigsaw and Marky Jay plus music from the marching band and live singers. Entertainment will be on the Quay from 9am to 12pm and then continue in Falkland Square from 11am to 4pm.
Sunday 8th December;
Santa will be making another trip to visit all the good boys and girls in Poole! He will be arriving at 11am on Poole Quay, ready to take present requests all day!
There will be live entertainment and lots of activities for all ages.
Saturday 14th December;
The middle of Poole High Street will become home to a fantastic line up of Christmas Choirs. You’ll have the chance to take part in a festive sing-a-long from 11am to 4pm.
Saturday 21st December;
Falkland Square will host a family friendly Christmas Movie Marathon. The free event has a seated movie area with patio heaters, beanbags and blankets – but seating is limited, so you’ll have to be quick! The movie listings are as follows:
11am – A Muppet Christmas Carol
12.45pm – Ice Age
2.30pm – The Santa Clause
The Dolphin Shopping Centre revealed it’s late night shopping dates earlier this week.
