Clive Conway productions are inviting you to join Britain’s most popular soprano this October in Christchurch for what will be a delightful evening of song and chat.

Accompanied by, and in conversation with, Anna Tilbrook, An Evening with Lesley Garratt sees her behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes give audiences a unique insight into the life she has on the stage.

Lesley is performing at the Regent in Christchurch with her pianist on Friday the 25th of October. Tickets for the night are £27 with Concessions prices at £25. The evening begins at 7.30pm with a total run time of 120 minutes.

As well as performing on the opera and concert stage both in the UK and internationally, Lesley has recently returned to English National Opera for the world premiere production of Nico Muhly’s Marnie. Last spring she appeared in another world premiere creating the role of Emcee in Rhonda Rips It Up!, based on the life of suffragette Margaret Haig Thomas and the autumn saw Lesley make her acting debut in a revised version of Patrick Barlow’s play, The Messiah for the National Theatre of Brent, on tour and in the West End. This spring she is creating another new role in ENO’s world premiere of Iain Bell’s opera, Jack the Ripper at the Coliseum.

Lesley is joined on the evening in Christchurch by Anna Tilbrook who is described as one of Britain’s most exciting pianists, with a fantastic reputation in song recitals and chamber music. She made her debut at the Wigmore Hall in 1999 and has since become a regular performer at Europe’s major concert halls and festivals, as well as coaching regularly for the Royal Opera in Covent Garden.

The reviews speak for themselves with many publications truly ‘singing’ the performer’s praises:

“A natural effervescent and powerhouse voice” Financial Times

“She cares about the people who come to hear her sing …. Through her

records and her unstuffy attitude to singing, she has clearly reached out

to music lovers far beyond the rarified confines of the opera house.”
                Sunday Times

               “She’s a down-to-earth Northerner…she’s incredibly funny and emotional,

with a glorious voice.”  The Daily Mail
