The circus is coming to town with Poole BID to juggle a range of free activities this September.

Described to include a host of things to enjoy on the day, including street performances, workshops and family-friendly activities throughout the high street and on Poole Quay, the Circus Spectacle runs from 10am until 6.30pm on on Saturday September 14th in Poole.

Some of the events that are set to take place on the Upper High Street include a chance to join in the circus fun with Higher Beings and try the crazy circus bikes, unicycles, tightrope or slackline and stilts, as well as Arthur the Juggler an award winning top-level juggler with tonnes of skills.
Some of the UK’s other finest slacklines performing as Men in Slackers, billed as a rip-roaring, rhythm-driven, side-splitting circus spectacular are due to end the event with a 30 minute show at 6pm as well as 3pm, all thought to made a fun filled day.

The event is organised by Poole Poole Business Improvement District (BID) as well as Thirty 12 Events, with BID saying they aim to continually improve the vitality and viability of Poole Town Centre.

Ranging from an award-winning juggler to a pirate themed acrobat show, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.

Ailsa Wilson, BID Manager, commented: “I think it’s going to be a thrilling day. Poole BID have worked their stripey, circus-style socks off to present to you our first Circus Spectacle! We bring to you, for one day only, some of the world’s most sought-after circus artists, acrobats, slackliners, jugglers and general all-round funny folks! Brace yourself for a day of hair-raising and rip-roaring family fun.”

The circus event is set to be a great example of how BID are hoping to provide a forum for town centre businesses, by bringing together stakeholders in the town centre to work in partnership, whether they be private sector, public sector or community representatives and to co-ordinate their activities towards a common goal; what we hope will be the entertainment of all the circus goers in September.

Jeanette Walsh, BID Board Member, added: “The events organised by Poole BID are always great fun and enjoyed by everyone whether you live in Poole or are visiting our town. My business has seen a benefit from these events, we have noticed an increase in visitors to my shop and customers now know we stay open late during all events.”
