The volunteer-run, community event, Christchurch Carnival is set to take place over the weekend of August 17th to 18th.
Described as two days of fun on the Quay with entertainment, live music and fireworks, a Carnival Parade will then take pride of place through the streets of Christchurch.
The parade is scheduled to kick off at 1pm on the Sunday, starting from Two Riversmeet and ending at Christchurch Quay.
The Christchurch Carnival Committee has been established for more than 100 years and in 2018, donations from the carnival helped multiple charities in the local area. Recently, Summerfiled PTA received £500 in donations, as did Help 4 Homeless. As well as this, Hurn Air Scouts received two tents and Greenfield’s youth football club, a TV for their Christmas raffle.
The Carnival event is free all weekend and activities begin from 10am on the Saturday; more information can be found here.
