LOCAL NEWS: Bournemouth & Poole College exceeds national average in student survey

Bournemouth & Poole College is claimed to have exceeded the national average in a student survey which invites them to rate the staff, courses and support.

The National Student Survey received what was described as an unprecedented response rate from students at the Bournemouth & Poole College who provided their feedback on their lecturers and other aspects of their experiences studying level four courses and above.

The survey was completed by a staggering 330,035 students in total from across 403 universities, colleges and alternative providers as well as those who responded from the local institutions.

Bournemouth & Poole College hosts subjects of all natures while offering a range of full and part-time courses, as well as apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, professional and technical courses. 

Kate Howes, learning manager of higher education, said: “We are very proud of the quality of our lecturers and the support provided so we are delighted to receive this endorsement that students appreciate our efforts to help them achieve their potential.”

In total, 84-per-cent of Bournemouth & Poole College students responded to the survey according to the institution, which is above the national average for the sector of 72-per-cent.

As well as this, of the students who responded, the college claim 86-per-cent said that they were satisfied with their chosen course, which was also above the national average of 84-per-cent for this year.

Kate went on to say: “We put skills development and employability at the heart of the student experience with over 90-per-cent of students agreeing that their course has provided the opportunity to apply what they had learned.”
