The soaring temperatures are set to continue this weekend, so here are some of the best ways to soak up the sun with friends and family in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Whether you’re after a jam-packed music festival or a cooling dip in the sea, here’s what’s coming up this weekend.

‘Bourne Free’, Bournemouth Pride Festival:

This year, Bournemouth’s Pride Festival will take place from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th July.

Bournemouth pride parade will return for its 15th year this Saturday. This weekend’s theme will be ‘paint the world with your pride’.

The event will see charities, support groups and hundreds of individuals gather in celebration of equality and diversity in the Bournemouth community.

On Saturday, the parade will set off from East Cliff at 11am and will finish off in The Triangle, lasting for approximately one hour.

Once the parade has ended, the celebrations will continue at The Triangle. The arena here will be a ticketed event for over 18s only. Acts such as Shane Lynch (Boyzone), Mutya Buena (Sugababes) and headliner Sharon Needles (Ru Paul Season 4 Winner) will take to the stage for unforgettable performances.

Additionally, there will be entertainment in The Triangle on Friday night from 5pm untill 11pm, which will be free and open to all ages.

Sunday will see the weekend wind down with a Sunday service by the Metropolitan Community Church Service. Following this, there will be Coffee and Cake at Flirt Cafe Bar.

Tickets for the Saturday event can be purchased online at www.bournefree.co.uk/wristbands/

SandFest 2019:

For the 3rd year running, this Sunday will see around 5000 music-loving locals take to the golden beaches of Sandbanks for 10 hours of sun, sea and dancing on the sand.

The festival will feature world-class DJs and acts, including the legendary Chase and Status and emerging urban star YXNG BANE.

Along with the numerous music acts, there will also be quirky food stalls, fully licensed bars and a luxury VIP area to soak up the atmosphere.

Thousands of participants will take to the seas on Sunday for British Heart Foundation’s pier to pier swim.

Starting at Bournemouth Pier, the 1.4 mile challenge will see competitors swim parallel to the shore before making their way across the finish line at Boscombe Pier.

The event is run to raise money for British Heart Foundation. In addition to the registration fee, the charity have set a fundraising target of £150 for all participants, to power life-saving research.

Registration for the swim is now closed but supporters and spectators at the event are just as important as the swimmers!

The swim will commence at midday on Sunday 14th July.
