With the start of the summer holidays fast approaching, we’ve got plenty of sunny activities to keep the entire family entertained over the next few months.

The sun is shining and school is almost out for another year.  But don’t worry if you don’t have anything planned for the summer break yet.

Here are some of our top picks of family activities not to miss this summer.

Bournemouth Air Festival:

The UK’s largest air festival will return to Bournemouth seafront on Thursday 29th August to Sunday 1st September.

4 days of action and entertainment will be coming to Bournemouth in the air, on land and at sea.

Since 2008, Bournemouth Air Festival has welcomed more than 8.5 million people with it’s unique entertainment. Unlike other air shows, once the sun goes down, you can also enjoy pyrotechnic night flying, street entertainment, live music and military performances.

And the best part is, it’s free!

 

 

 

 

 

Rockley’s Summer Spectacular:

This festive event, supported by Rockley Park and Wave 105, offers a month of free live music, entertainment and fireworks at Poole Quay every Thursday evening.

The event is organised by Bournemouth and Poole Tourism to bring a party atmosphere to Poole’s continental quayside. It begins 25th July and continues until 29th August.

Entertainment will run from 7pm and will end with with a firework finale over the largest natural harbour in Europe at 10pm.

So be sure not to miss out on the fun in Poole this summer.

 

 

 

 

 

Stompin’ on the Quomps:

On Saturday 3rd August get ready for an eclectic mix of Jazz Fusion and Latin Jazz, all the way through to Blues and Big Band.

Stompin’ on the Quomps festival located in the picturesque surroundings of Christchurch Quay will be providing Dorset with a touch of soul for its 25th anniversary this summer.

With a soothing jazz soundtrack set against the waterside, and a splash park and playground for the kids, there truly is something for all ages at this event.

Acts will take to the stage from midday to around 10pm in the Lighthouse Marquee and and on the Main Stage.

Visitors are also invited to bring a picnic to the festival, which gives the perfect excuse for a family day out!
