LEISURE: Things to do this Easter Holiday

If you’re stuck for activities to keep yourself and the kids entertained over the Easter break, try one or a few of these events.

Around Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole there is plenty for families to do to keep busy while the kids are off school.

Easter Trail – The Regent Centre

Explore the beautiful history of Christchurch on foot.

Pick up a map for £2 between 10am – 4pm up until 22 April, and walk along the accessible trail through the historical landmarks.

This trail takes around 40 minutes to 2 hours, and there are other activities on at The Regent Centre as well.

Easter at the Russell-Cotes Museum

Inspired by the characters Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad, the museum are hosting a range of Wind in the Willows themes activities.

From garden games, to treasure hunts, and house trails to arts and crafts, there’s something different to do every day up right up to 22 April.

Easter Trail – Stour Valley

Start at the Kingfisher Barn Visitor Centre, and follow the trail along the Stour River, solving clues to win prizes.

The trail is open seven days a week, from 11am – 5pm, until 21 April, at £2.50 a ticket.

Bouncing Bunny Easter Trail – Poole Museum

Search for the hidden bunnies in the cases on this free trail, find them all and win a chocolate prize!

This event runs until 22 April, open during usual museum opening times (10am – 4pm).

The Amazing Bubbleman – Poole Lighthouse

Be mesmerised by the science and magic of bubbles with this thrilling show from Louie Pearl.

The bubbleman can produce square bubbles, rocket bubbles, tornado bubbles and flying saucer bubbles, which have to be seen to be believed.

Fun for all ages, the show is on 20 April at 2pm.

Horrible Histories – The Regent Centre

Come and watch the children’s nitty gritty of history and meet British characters such as Richard III, and King James I.

Fresh off the West End, on it’s first tour, the show will intrigue and amaze.

Easter Food & Craft Fayre – Vitality Stadium

Join the team at Vitality Stadium for Easter fun of all kinds.

The Junior Fanzone will also be open, and guests are welcome to book stadium tours.

The fayre itself is free, and runs from 11am – 4pm on Monday 22 April.

Easter at the libraries

Libraries across the area are putting on many events for Easter such as an egg hunt at Broadstone, and crafts and colouring at Hamworthy.

For really little ones, join the team at Parkstone library on 16 April with your teddy bears for ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ – storytime and a teddy bears picnic.

For something slightly different, how about Aboriginal Art for children at Canford Heath library on 18 April.

Celebrate World Book Day at Hamworthy Library with author Claire Fuller, including a book swap, and a quiz on 23 April.

Great British Spring Clean – Hengistbury Head

Leave Only Footprints are running a free clean up event as part of the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.

They meet at 1pm on Saturday 13 April at the Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre, and then again on 17, 27 and 28 April.
