Poole artist, Barbara Evans, will be showcasing her work at the Gallery Upstairs, Upton Country Park, from 16 to 24 February, 10am-4pm.
“Barbara Evans – a Life in Art” will feature pieces that celebrate her lifelong love of art. Any remaining pieces that aren’t sold will be auctioned on 24 February at 2:30pm. All proceeds from the exhibition and auction will go towards Prostate Cancer UK.
When Barbara’s husband died of prostate cancer, it was her art which helped her through difficult times.
Barbara says:
“This exhibition will give me the chance to bring together and share with others all the tremendous joy and pleasure I have found in producing my artwork. The more that can be donated to Prostate Cancer UK the better.”
Prostate cancer is the third biggest cancer killer in the UK, and James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK says the charity is extremely grateful for Barbara’s generous gesture.
“The money raised from this event will help us fund research for real change, from more effective testing to better treatments.”
