Ways to stay healthy this winter

0

As well as cosy nights in and comfort food, winter can unfortunately also bring colds and sickness. Here are just a few of our tips to help keep you fighting fit during the colder months.

  • Eat well – eating fruit and vegetables that are rich in vitamin C can boost your immune system. You should also drink plenty of water.
  • Stop the spread of germs – if you are over 65, or have health problems, it’s a good idea to get the flu jab. Ask your GP for more information.
  • In the event of a stomach bug, minimise your contact with other people, and avoid visiting your GP, to reduce the risk of spreading the bug. Be sure to stay hydrated.
  • Practice good hand hygiene. Remember, hand sanitiser shouldn’t be used in place of hand washing – and it doesn’t kill things like tummy bugs!
