House in Boscombe transformed into three modern apartments

A house of bedsits in Boscombe has been converted into three modern apartments by DWP Housing Partnership.

The property in Churchill Road is the latest to be updated by the landlord, which is returning a number of Houses in Multiple Occupancy (HMOs) back to self-contained flats and family homes.

Bournemouth Borough Council is making great strides to regenerate the area, but needs support from private landlords in order to achieve its goals.

The Victorian properties in Churchill Gardens surround a large green, with sports and play equipment.

This latest development has created a two-bedroom flat and two one-bedroom flats, which were quickly filled after completion. Steve Wells, head of DWP Housing Partnership says converting properties like this means:

“We have larger properties that benefit families. It also means our tenants will stay longer. Other benefits include enhancing the living environment for all residents in an area.”
