Traffic flow improvement measures at Bournemouth Hospital

0

The Royal Bournemouth Hospital (RBH) and Bournemouth Council are working together to improve traffic flow and road safety, in and around the hospital.

Priorities include improving emergency access for ambulances, as well as better access for patients, especially at peak times.

Solutions being considered include changes to traffic signals, increased road markings and more signage. The use of new technology is also being explored, and may lead to the latest traffic monitoring and incident detection equipment being trialled along Castle Lane East.

Additionally, a planning application has been submitted for a new link road and junction connecting the A338 and Wessex Fields Business Park, which would provide a second point of access to the hospital.
