BOURNEMOUTH: Adventure Golf coming to the seafront

Plans for a new family-friendly attraction that pays homage to Bournemouth’s swashbuckling history have been unveiled.

‘Smugglers’ Cove’ Adventure Golf is set to open summer 2019, at the Waterfront area adjacent to Pier Approach. The 18-hole course will challenge players to negotiate exciting obstacles, while giving them the chance to uncover aspects of local heritage and Bournemouth’s secret past as a smuggling haunt. It aims to offer an interactive, educational and fun experience for all the family.

The planned landscaping includes extensive natural planting, and its design will compliment the recently regenerated Pier Approach. The centrepiece of the course will be a spectacular waterfall.

Councillor Pat Oakley, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Leisure and the Arts says: “Currently, the Waterfront space functions as an event area with mixed success. The project aims to deliver a high-quality family attraction for Bournemouth’s visitors and our residents…I am delighted to offer this addition to Bournemouth’s list of attractions”.
