Serious injury collision on the M27 update – Appeal for important witness

Police investigating the serious injury collision between a red Nissan Micra and a white Mercedes Sprinter van at junction 3 of the M27 earlier today are appealing for an important witness to get in touch.

When police first arrived at the scene there were three people assisting the injured person. One left before police were able to get their details. Officers are now asking them to get in touch as they may have important information about what happened.

As a result of the crash which happened around 3.50am, all lanes on the westbound carriageway between the off and on slip at junction 3 were closed while debris was cleared and the initial investigation was undertaken.

The driver of the Nissan, a man in his thirties has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. No-one else was hurt.
