Dorset Police detected 190 vehicles exceeding the temporary 40mph speed limit on October 29. The fastest vehicle was travelling at 76mph.
Safety camera vans are now in operation, to help keep the workforce safe during the current road improvements. This is in place during off-peak hours only, not during rush-hour traffic.
Motorists are being urged to please observe the speed limits, and to drive carefully and considerately.
